My twin, Tammy and I went to see Bret Michaels at the Windsor Casino on Saturday night. His show was awesome even though the majority of the songs he played were from his Poison days. His solo stuff is really good, but he didn't play much of it.

And yes, this image has ZERO manipulation to it whatsoever. I got to meet him afterwards and this is my keepsake...as well as the memory of his really blue eyes.

Working all sessions from all week, but I'm playing with a few from yesterday right now. I had a good time working with these kids. Last year was the first year I got the chance to meet and work with this family, and I was amazed at how much the youngest has grown. I commented on that to the parents. When you see your kids everyday, you don't always notice the drastic differences that someone like myself does.

Last weekend, I photographed my friends, Ken and Tami Gould, as well as their four children in the park. The colors were beautiful and kids were even more so. Ken is another local photographer, Kenneth Gerard Photography. He owns a DJ company as well. Can you tell he's an overachiever? Oh, and the BEST thing about Ken and Tami is that they are huge Bon Jovi fans.

I photographed this cutie a year ago for the first time. Both mom and grandma came to the session. On Friday, all of them came back again for his two year portraits. As soon as I turned the corner and spotted grandma, I knew it was her I saw at my cousin's baby shower the week before. She and I kept bumping our chairs and apologizing, and even though I thought she was familiar, I never said a word....very unlike me, too.

Angelina's Birthday Party

It has been awhile since I posted an update on Angelina's progress, and since the family celebrated her birthday party yesterday, what's a better time to do it?

She is doing well, and as you can see, her hair has grown back and then some. She is talking now and acts like every three year old should, sass and all. Her treatment is still on track to finish the end of July in 2011.

In other news, I will be an auntie again this February. My brother, Ryan and sister-in-law, Jamie are expecting their second child, and tomorrow morning, we will be finding out what the sex of the baby is. Ryan and Jamie are the first of these images and their daughter, Hannah, is hanging upside down further down the page.

Ryan and Michelle are Angelina's godparents. That's them in front of the birthday cake after all of them blew out Angelina's candles.

Yesterday was a little emotional, but night and day from her birthday last year. It's amazing what a year can do.

I played outside with the kids for a while and took some shots of Angelina on the playscape. She and I went down the slide together - that's us on top before making our way down. What a trip that was - couldn't tell you the last time I went down a slide!

And yes, Tammy was all for State and Nick was for Michigan. Both of them went to State, and that's where they met, but Nick's loyalty is to Michigan.

I share the same joy as this mom who was in yesterday - the blessing of three beautiful girls! The baby's first birthday was yesterday and I couldn't get over how much she reminded me of my Priscilla when she was the same age. Even sucks her thumb and cuddled on her mom just like my baby did.

Yes, my beautiful niece is a senior! I remember visiting her in the hospital when she was born. And, of course, attending the wedding of her parents. Dave and I were dating then and it was the summer of my senior year in high school. Time flies...

Last weekend, my cousins surprised their parents with a surprise 50th anniversary party at Cherry Creek. Both of them were very surprised.
Tina, Dino and Mario (the kids) surprised them once again with an accordian player from Las Vegas. He's 81 years old and doesn't look it. Check him out in the red shirt. He's Uncle Vince's favorite accordian player.
I shot the party and wouldn't you know it, my husband Dave was the second shooter. I had a good time shooting with him, and he enjoyed it, too. He did a really good job with his eye.
It's been a long time since I got on the dance floor, but I did, especially with the kids. Our little Priscilla can hammer it out big time.
We're very happy for both of you, Aunt Mary and Uncle Vince. You've been wonderful to me over the years, and David cherishes both of you beyond words. Both of us have a very special place in our hearts for both of you and always will.

Yes, our newest Mrs. Michigan, Kyla Marcial, brought her two beautiful kids to the studio yesterday. We had a great time, and the kids were so cooperative, behaved and fun to shoot.
The greatest thing about my job is watching the kids grow up. I first shot Kyla's daughter when her son was in her belly.

I had the pleasure of photographing a 50th anniversary renewal of vows and reception on Saturday for a wonderful, happy married couple. One of the images here is both the bride and groom with their four children and spouses with their grandchildren. Quite the good looking and happy family. The fiance of Enzo (one of the four children of Mario and Francesca) is my very good friend, Linda Tomassi. I met Linda at GM back in 2000 and she is my friend with the biggest and warmest heart. I love you girl! Enzo took the last shot of Linda and me before I left for the night.
Francesca's girls gave their mother a garter in the morning to wear. She thought it was a headband. Mario didn't know about it until the reception when he took it off her. The difference with the garter removal from a new bride and groom versus a couple married for 50 years is that Mario removed Francesca's shoe when taking off the garter and then put it back on before showing the guests his prize. It was one of the sweetest gestures I've seen a groom do in a long time.

Priscilla had her karate test for her yellow belt on Friday night. She was so nervous and excited. The weather was perfect for walking around Downtown Rochester afterwards and she picked out the restaurant (a 50's cafe). Driving home brought back the good old days when the windows were down and the warm air blew on your face. The kids had a blast.

Something new to share...

During a family session and a twin newborn session, my clients let me play a little in between.

I learned this technique while in Chicago from a great photographer and new friend, Mike (a huge Bon Jovi fan, too). Although these took a little more time than usual in the postwork, they are a lot of fun to do. Finally something a little out of the box! As usual, I had a great time working with the kids and babies.

I have a lot of new ideas coming - I just need to implement them. Stay tuned for a lot of new stuff!

My nieces Angelina and Marissa

My niece, Marissa, made her first communion today. Here's a post of her one and only godmother, 'mua', and her godfather, my DH Dave. Since her party will be later, we skipped over to my sis' house to eat and check on Angelina.
So many of my clients have been so sweet emailing and asking in person how Angelina's progress is, so here's the update - she's still in remission, and as you can see, her hair is growing in and her skin coloring has done a 180. Her mood is wonderful while off the steroids (infrequent doses now), and yet her treatment still consists of daily chemo in the evenings with once a month trips downtown for a few heavy doses at once. To date, her treatment should be wrapping up by July 2011. The oncology clinic installed a bell a few months back for the kids to ring when they have completed their chemo treatment (not daily, rather, the last day ever of their chemo). On down days, I remind myself she'll be ringing that bell next year. And you better believe there's going to be a big party to celebrate.

Hope everyone is holding up well for the sun. We have another moody day ahead tomorrow, but think positive.

My one and only twin

I talk about Tammy from time to time, and here I go again.
For those of you who don't have a twin, I don't expect you to get this. But if you are one, and identical, I know you'll know what I'm talking about.
Last night, I was hanging with Tammy at her house and that's it. We don't have to talk, not a single word, but it's as if we're speaking a mile a minute to eachother without a single breath. It happens alot. Definitely one of the coolest things about having a twin.
Off to work with a head full of new ideas...thanks to Chicago.

So, it's not even 8:30 in the morning yet and the GE fixer upper guy was here to give us the official news...our washing machine is indeed dead. As if we didn't know that already, but we couldn't figure out a better way to spend $80 bucks for (no lie) less than 7 minutes of appliance observation. Imagine the smiles we are sporting this morning. Did I mention the washer was about to celebrate its sixth birthday next month? I love the efforts of hard work.
Well, sorry to break the news Pacino, but you'll have to wait a little longer for a new cage. Stare at the rust a little longer and hope the washers mate doesn't go into depression and decide to croak from a broken heart.

A Fundraiser for Angelina's medical bills

My niece, Angelina Russo, has been fighting Leukemia (A.L.L.) since last March 2009. Her continued treatment has left some medical bills yet to be billed and unpaid to my BIL, Nick and twin sister, Tammy.

Nick's cousins, Laura, Tina and Ron have put together a fun fundraiser to be held next month. Here are the details if you're interested:

Sunday, March 28th from 1pm - 4pm at Thunderbird Lanes (400 W. Maple Road, Troy 48084). The cost is $30 per adult and $15 per child (17 and under) and includes 2 games, shoe rental, pizza, and pop. There are bumpers available for the little bowlers! There will also be a cash/item raffle.

Happy New Year

I hope your holiday season was great and memorable, and that the New Year brings you much happiness and joy.
Angelina is doing well and entered Phase three of her treatment before Thanksgiving. It didn't take long for her hair to start growing back, and she's looking a lot like G.I. Jane right now. I took these images the day after Thanksgiving, and as you can, her head was still bald. And by Christmas, she looked so different from these shots because her hair started growing fast and really dark.
We were so blessed to share Christmas with everyone together including Anglina because her numbers were good and nobody was sick. Let me tell you something - this was a Christmas like none other, and gifts meant nothing to anyone (besides the kids) since the greatest one was priceless and given by none other than He himself. It was typical to look across the room and see an adult gazing at Angelina with a smile on his or her face. If there's anything positive I can say about 2009, it's that I was reminded of what a gift each of our lives are to one another.

I look forward to working this year and introducing new products and promotions.
To everyone who reads this blog, best wishes for a wonderful 2010 and may all of us gain a new found respect for everyone we come in contact with. I came to the conclusion two years ago that it's not love that makes the world go round; it's respect for one another that does. If everyone respected opinions, beliefs and eachother as wholes, we would have less arguing, bitterness, disputes and the acceptance of our differences.
God bless everyone, especially during out most trying and darkest hours.

Angelina's birthday

Angelina turned two today! And just a few days before, Angelina's numbers were up at the clinic so her doctor gave the thumbs up to throw her a birthday party. We got together yesterday (Sunday) with just the bare minimum of family and everyone present had their flu shot per Angelina's doctor.
It was great - everything went better than could be expected, despite Angelina's running nose. She was in a good mood most of the day, but had her moments of frustration. The kids were ESTATIC to see her - it was their first real visit with her since the diagnosis in March. They saw her twice since then, but in short intervals without interaction. In fact, they agreed to flu shots so they could see her, even though Priscilla wigged out when it was her turn.
As you can see, Angelina has lost all of her hair but a few strands here and there. She's still absolutely gorgeous, and her smile steals my heart!
If her treatment continues on track without any delays from low numbers, she will be in the maintenance phase around Thanksgiving.
Angelina will most likely be in the hospital overnight this week to ensure she's hydrated enough for her next spinal and chemo round.

She decorated the lawn for Angelina's birthday though the weekend out of the goodness of her heart! Thank you again Amy. It's people like you that put a smile on Tammy and Nick's face.

The Angelina Fundraiser & Upcoming JMD Foundation Gala

The personal fundraiser for Angelina was held this past Saturday, September 26th at the Maple Lanes Golf Course in Sterling Heights. Nick's cousin, Lori, put it together and did a great job.
Everyone had a great time and it was a big success. Tammy drove a golf cart with me in tow and personally thanked everyone at various holes for coming while I took shots of the teams. There were many people that Tammy and Nick had never met until Saturday, and were really touched by their generousity.
The fundraiser was held to offset the medical costs that the insurance will not cover. Both Tammy and Nick have decided to donate all remaining monies when treatment is over to the Jacob Michael Davis Foundation.
If you would like to participate in any children's cancer fundraisers, I urge you to visit www.jacobmichaeldavis.org soon. The annual gala will be held again on November 14, 2009 at 6 p.m. at Cherry Creek Golf Course in Shelby Township. It's a formal event.
The JMD Foundation was founded by Eric and Michelle Davis, parents of Jacob Michael who passed away at 7 years old on May 20, 2005 from Leukemia. Michelle and my BIL, Nick are first cousins and Nick was the godfather of Jacob.
It's a remarkable foundation that continues to grow from the generousity of people like you. They help many families of children battling cancer, and provide everything from grief counseling to financial assistance. It's horrible enough when your child is sick or passes, and imagine when life continues. You can't afford to pay your gas or electric bill or even the mortgage payment, but it's people like Michelle and Eric who lived it first-hand and decided to do something about it.
I'm a believer in positive energy, therefore, I will not mention what the media is making headlines about. Rather, I want to encourage you to do something, financial or dedicated time to make your heart feel good and put a smile on your face because you did something for someone who truly needed it.

Playing Catch Up

Thank you everyone for your kind words this past week and for accommodating my schedule. I still have a few more to reschedule and a few extra long weeks, but I promised myself I wouldn't get stressed out - we'll see about that one.

I went to see Angelina last night and took some pictures. I couldn't believe how different she looks, but she sure was in a good mood. Marissa and Rocco were pretty hyper and excited. I put the two of them to sleep and read them a book. Rocco's birthday is tomorrow.

Nick was playing with Angelina on his bed early in the night and this is one of my favorites.

As for my schedule, I'm almost booked solid for the remainder of the year. I know it seems a little early, but it's actually later in comparison to the previous years.

I'll miss you grandpa

After a long, trying battle with his health, my grandpa Tacconelli passed away this morning.
I'll always love you Grandpa, and I'll cherish the loving, patient and honest man that you were. Rest in peace, play your music, and we'll take care of grandma.
Unfortunately, I will have to rework my schedule, but it's still too early to alter it. Thank you for your understanding.

Tattoo

My BIL finally got the tattoo he's been talking about since last year when I took this picture (the first image posted on top). I was there shooting midway to the end and what a cool experience. Matt did an awesome job, owner and tattoo artist of XS Tattooing & Piercing in downtown Rochester.
What an honor to have your work on someone else's body forever. Even though this isn't the first time my images have been tattooed, it's still an awesome feeling.
And, BTW, Angelina is doing great. She's in phase two of her treatment and in the second out of three cycles within this phase. Her chemo treatments are now spread out to every ten days and this cycle should be the easiest of them all. Tammy and Nick and welcoming the great break. She should be finished with her treatment within two years.

The Walk

The Children's Leukemia Foundation walk was last Saturday at Kensington Park. Thank you to everyone who came to walk, show support or donate. The turnout was great and although Angelina was not physically there (Nick stayed home with her), she was everywhere in sight. Her image was on so many pink shirts that many team members wore, it was if she was there. By far, team 'lovelina' was the biggest.
Angelina's immunity numbers have been low this past month, therefore, she has received just one round of chemo. She has new hair growth (her hair thinned out, but enough remained to cover her head in full) and itchy patches are all over her scalp.
Angelina has a follow-up MRI next Friday to check out the eye area and how it's healing. It looks great on the outside.
Thanks again everyone for your support, love and prayers. After the weekend, I'm hoping to post some recent and fun images of Angelina.

Isabella's Communion

My oldest daughter made her First Holy Communion over the weekend. I can't believe I have a child old enough for the sacrament, but one look in the mirror reminds me that it's more than possible.
It was a great party afterwards because the weather was magnificent. Here are a few pics of Dave, Isabella and myself, the other image is Isabella and her godparents, Tammy and Nick (Angelina was home with her great aunt Denise and her (grandma) sito and we were so grateful they came), another is Isabella and her little sisters and the the other is Isabella and her grandparents. I've also posted a few from the studio I took. Isabella managed to get chocolate all over the front of her dress, so I'm glad we got the studio shots out of the way before the communion. Her dress is at the cleaners and my fingers are crossed that the big stains come out because she wears it for the May crowning mass this Friday in celebration with her fellow classmates of the sacrament they received.

Sunday night

I hung out Sunday night with Tammy, Nick and the kids. I've left a camera there and TRY to remember to bring a flash card everytime I stop by, and this time, I remembered. I took basic snapshots of all of them interacting and here are just a few. As you can see, all of them look well rested and happy. It's a complete 180 from one month ago.

As you can see, Nick buzzed his head for Angelina twice now. And from the looks of it, Angelina may be keeping hers after all. I snuck up on Nick after he went to bed, and his sense of humor seems to go 24/7, go figure.

It's official!

Angelina is in remission officially! Yeah and Praise the Lord! Tammy and Nick got the call later this afternoon and not one leukemic cell was found on the molecular level (an intense scan, x1000, than the microscope used to view the cells after Angelina's spinal tap and bone marrow aspirations). They have a sitdown scheduled for tomorrow with the doctor to discuss the next phase which will last four to five months. Phase three will be discussed when the next phase is complete.

The doctor has mentioned she may be one of the few who do not lose their hair during the chemo process. She has definitely lost hair, it's thinner than it was, but next week should be the determination. I bought her a cute hat, and whether or not she loses her hair, she can wear it this spring.

I stopped at Tammy and Nick's house yesterday to say hi, and got to see Angelina. Tammy went out to see Dave and the kids in the car (we're trying to keep the kids away from Angelina until her immune system can fight germs), and she was a having a small 'roid' tantrum. I couldn't resist picking her up (only the Lord knows how much I have not picked her up against my natural urge since she got home from the hospital). She was precious, and even though she has gained a few pounds from the steroids, she felt lighter than she looks. I showed Ryan the pics on the LCD screen later and he was just a tad jealous.

UNOFFICIAL REMISSION

Angelina is in unofficial remission as of today. We'll find out on Monday for sure after a molecular 'scan' is done. She's got a really round belly and cheeks you want to pinch from the weight gain due to the steroids, but if all goes well and remission is confirmed, the 'roids' dosage will severly decrease. It has affected her moods greatly - not a very happy baby to say the least, but food and Barney help.

Tammy is getting better and her spirits are slowly lifting. I just got back from her house and she helped me put together my brother, Ryan and new SIL, Jamie's, wedding proof album. I didn't get a chance to put that in my blog because everything with Angelina happened so fast, but they got married on March 7th. It was a really ugly day out, but you'd never know it by the 'glorious' mood everyone was in that day. My niece, Hannah, looked stunning that day, right?!?

There are so many angels here on earth. And my sincere apologizes to all my clients whom I have messed up orders and times (yes, you know who you are *Lisa*). All of you have been too easy on me, but I am eternally gratefully for your forgiveness.

Monday

I went with Tammy and Angelina to the chemo clinic at the hospital yesterday morning. We were there by 7:30 in the morning. Angelina couldn't eat or drink because she was scheduled for another spinal tap if her blood numbers came back good. By 11am, Angelina was prepped for her spinal.

We're waiting on the results, but in the meantime, her doctor gave her chemo through the spine after the tap. Her first spinal, March 13th, was clear and indicated it wasn't in the Central Nervous System. The doctor monitors the fluid during the first phase through four draws to ensure it's not lingering somewhere in the CNS. Again, please keep her in your prayers, and that the results come back clear.

She was given the chemo in the spine because she was scheduled to have it anyway, but as an agressive measure, in case her spinal fluid contains Leukemic cells, the direct chemo is meant to help quicker.

On a sidenote, it's a rude awakening to be at the hospital on the oncology floor. What you see can eat you alive if you let it. It takes really special people to work in that field, and the volunteers at the hospital are definitely 'chosen ones.' I saw a baby, didn't look more than five months old, go in for his vitals and bloodwork. When you're on that floor, checking in to the clinic, it means only one thing. You'd think you'd need to be made of steel to work there, but then again, the people are so warm, receptive, and kind - it's impossible to say they are not human.

Angelina is eating more because of the steroids. She was packing it in yesterday, both in the car and at home. She feel asleep in the car for a couple of minutes (seriously), and woke back up to eat her chips again. It was as if she was so hungry and so tired, but her stomach won her over. She was going to town when she got home and ate while watching Barney. It didn't take long for her eyes to darken up after the chemo, but she was still smiling and laughing like her typical self.

BTW, the swelling in her eye has gone down, her eye is back in position. Amazing how fast the bone surrounding her eye healed, and it sure looks promising the chemo is working.

Praise the Lord.

Baby Angelina is home

Angelina came home two days ago, and was back at the clinic hospital today for chemo. My sister will be there three to four times a week for the chemo. Angelina's blood will be drawn first to check numbers and then after a wait from the bloodwork, chemo will begin for the day. It's a long drive there and back, but it will be part of a routine for awhile.

My sister had a bad day trying to establish a routine. My mom and stepmom came with her to observe and learn the routine if she should not be able to go one day. Angelina cried a lot and needed to be held down several times. Naturally, this broke my sister's heart.

I told Tammy early in the week that if Angelina was sick free, I'd be over her house at 12:15ish am with the brand new Twilight DVD. This made my sister's eyes light up (I'm not gonna lie - I'm going nuts sitting here waiting to go buy it). Thanks to Maria Lisa, I got hooked on the book saga, and now Tammy is. In fact, I finished Twilight on March 8th, early morning and begged my sister to go see the movie that same night. She hates vampires, wouldn't give me an answer, and then I told her it was an awesome love story. She went, I gave her the book after the credits were rolling, and she told Nick later that night that she hates when 'my sister is right.' Thank God though because it's the books that are giving my sister a break from the crazyland your head will wander to during a time like this.

I will be off to see my amazing niece shortly, but of course, I have to buy a certain something first. Just two hours to go and a few minutes after that until my sister can absorb herself into something temporarily. I'm spending the night like the old days and can't wait to see Angelina wide awake in the morning.

I just got home.
I'm glad I listened to our 'twin pull' tonight and came down there. I didn't tell you this, but I felt the tightening of the back of my throat, the burning and ache that comes with it before I even got there. I was anxious and couldn't ignore it. I know you know what I mean because that's what you were feeling. It's one of the beauties of being a twin. It intensified the closer I got to the hospital, and it peaked when I walked into the room.

When I left, I **** near had a stroke two exits down on 75 when I realized I should've stayed. You've always known that I can be a 'few exits' behind in the dah factor, but that's when I began to pray for you. I prayed for His healing hands over Angelina of course, but I asked Him to take away your pain, the sadness, the darkness and replace it with much deserved calmess and sanity. It wasn't until I was halfway home that the pain in the throat started to lighten until finally, it was gone. I hope it's because you fell asleep, but my 'twin thing' says it was just the miles separating us.

You and I were blessed when each of us found our soulmates, and they are wonderful men who have such special gifts. But those special blessings from God aside, we were blessed tremendously from the beginning by having eachother. If I never told you, I'm sorry, but you are, and will be the better half of us. You have a heart of gold, a gift for reason, and a sure mind - traits I could only dream to have. But since one of us had to get those, I'm glad it was you. And I ache that you are the one suffering through this as a mom, and if I could take your place, I would. You don't deserve this.

I'm confident that you'll get through this and the darkness will become light again. In the meantime, please don't let your pride get in the way. Tonight is the reminding proof that we're connected, always, and I will be here and there no matter what.

And Nick, I love you like a 'shared' husband (don't be perverted about it either). I prayed for your darkness to be lifted as well.

Sleep tight. Tomorrow will be brighter when all of you are together again.

We received the news we were hoping for late afternoon yesterday - it's ALL and NOT in the Central Nervous System! Thank you so much for your prayers!
Angelina had her first dose of chemo last night and was relaxed on pain meds from the surgery. Her first month of chemo will be intense and frequent. Tammy and Nick will be going to the hospital weekly (3 to 4 times) for day long chemo treatments. After good test results, and progression shows, she will continue on to the next phases. The second phase will be three to four months long, a notch down in intensity, but still agressive with chemo. After a green flag with good test results, phase three will begin and last 1.5 to 2 years of once a month chemo. Her road will be long, but without a doubt, filled with love and prayers from family and friends.
On behalf of Tammy and Nick, thank you everyone for your prayers, positive thoughts, and generous offers. Our world is a glorious one and it shines when we come together to help one another.
I will continue to document Angelina's progression on my blog as well.

Last night, our family received heart-breaking news. My 17 month old niece (my twin sister's baby), has Leukemia. If you're a parent, I'm sure you can understand it's a nightmare. It's not fair - she's just a baby, but the disease is never fair, right?
This morning will be her surgery. She'll have a spinal tap to determine if it's in her Central Nervous System or not, a bone marrow aspiration to determine the type (ALL or AML) and a port in her chest for chemo. The doctors said her young age helps and her white blood cell count is considered on the lower end (6,000).
We are praying the news will come back that she has ALL because it has an 85% cure rate, and very importantly, that it's not in her CNS.
If I could make a wish, it would be me instead, but God says no. Please pray for her strength, and His hands to heal her. Please pray for my twin, Tammy and my brother-in-law, Nick, too. They are a train wreck as you could imagine.
To all the parents who have ever crossed paths with this disease, you're in my prayers.
In the meantime, I apologize for any inconvenience with sessions, orders and phone calls. MariaLisa will be working today, and please be patient - I've dropped alot on her in twelve hours. If I've had to reschedule you, I promise I will get you in ASAP when the weekend is over.

I love to read, but it's been a while since I picked up a book and read it front to back, muchless say it was excellent - until yesterday.

If you like to read, this is the book you'll tell everyone you know to read when you're done. I'm not a spoiler, but it's about a father who's daughter is abducted, and is coping with the few skills he has to go on. He receives a note one day, and battles over who it's really from - the abductor or God. He decides to accept the invitation to go back to The Shack, the last place his daughter may have taken her last breath...

My New Year's Resolution

It's so easy to get caught up in the chaos and stress of our daily routines and obligations. I'm really bad at managing my stress and seem to take it out on my family the most. Because of this, I've decided to make changes in life.
My New Year's Resolution may seem very easy and boring to some, but for all the moms and dads out there who can relate, I'm sure you'll agree that this takes much life change to accomplish. I'm promising to hug and kiss my children more each day, to get on the floor and play with the kids especially when I feel the urge to tackle the dishes or laundry, to look my husband in the eye and listen to him speak instead of combing through the mail and finally, to cuddle with my husband like the old days.

Jacob is the godson of my brother-in-law, Nick. Although his time on earth was brief, his soul made a priceless impact on those who met him.

Remainder of the year is now booked

Like a double-edged sword, I'm happy yet sad to announce the remainder of the year, 2008, is booked. I'm thrilled that my clientele, both new and current, have honored me with such a blessing to book your sessions early, but at the same time, we're still in August!
I do have a cancellation list that has started, and although I cannot make promises that you'll be contacted, at least it gives you a chance. Like last year, I will close the list when it becomes full - I don't want to mislead anyone. If you'd like to be added, feel free to call or email the studio with your name, phone number and information regarding the individual(s) to be photographed. That gives me an idea beforehand what kind of slot you'll need for time.
IF YOU HAVE A NEWBORN, PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL. Although I have hardly anything left for newborns for the year, there are a few remaining for newborns only. Many people have called beforehand to schedule around their due date, and I suppose that makes sense afterall.

Here are a few from a recent session. I've had a really busy couple of weeks. If you're not a stay-at-home mom working from the home, let me tell you something - IT'S HARD! The kids are always taken care of while I'm shooting or with a client, but all post work is done while I'm with the kids. It's quite the juggle. I know a lot of my clients have a good idea though because they've heard a lot of background noise when I'm on the phone again. I can no longer apologize since the majority of my clients are parents themselves - all of them know that your children want you the second you pick up the phone after it has rung. The kids won't want a thing while it's ringing, but if you dare pick it up...

I took the night off and spent it with my sister having a few drinks and a movie. We haven't done that since the kids were born!
If you haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it. Take someone you love, too. And despite what guys might think, it's not a chic flick.
The movie is sad, I'm not going to lie. But you leaving feeling grateful for your significant other and everyone else in your life. It will provoke you to talk about the hardest thing - 'move on without me and don't be afraid to fall in love again.' Easier said then done of course, but it's the spoken words that take the mystery out of what your loved one would want you to do when God calls you home.
If you haven't had a romantic kiss from your significant other, this movie will make you want to right away. See - there's something in it for the guys after all!
I have a BUSY weekend ahead of me and a crazy week, too. I'll have lots of new images to post soon! Have a great weekend everyone!
